    Singer Tina Turner Passed Away At 83; Celebs Mourn For Rock ‘N’ Roll Legend

    The music industry has lost another legend. Earlier today (Thursday, 25th May), Rock ‘n’ Roll singer Tina Turner was reported to have passed away due to a long illness. She was 83 years old. The veteran star has apparently suffered many health complications over the years including being diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and having a kidney transplant the following year.

    Known as the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, the icon has made her mark in the music industry and has inspired many artists we know and love. Today, those artists took to social media to pay tribute to not only their idol but a friend as well.

    1. Mick Jagger

    Fellow rock icon Mick Jagger of Rolling Stones posted on his social media to mourn the death of one of his dear friends. The caption reads, “I’m so saddened by the passing of my wonderful friend Tina Turner. She was truly an immensely talented performer and singer. She was inspiring, warm, funny, and generous. She helped me so much when I was young and I will never forget her.”

    2. Diana Ross 

    Motown-R&B legend Diana Ross tweeted a photo of her with the late singer to express how shocked she was to hear the sudden news. “Shocked. Saddened. Sending condolences to Tina Turner’s family and loved ones,” she wrote.

    3. Mariah Carey

    R&B singer-songwriter Mariah Carey shared her grief by tweeting a photo of the Rock ‘n Roll legend with a caption that reads, “To me, she will always be a survivor and an inspiration to women everywhere. Her music will continue to inspire generations to come. Rest in Peace, Queen ❤️”.

    4. Alicia Keys

    Referred to as the Queen of R&B, Alicia Keys paid tribute to the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll in a lengthy Instagram post where she reminisced about the time she met the late singer thanks to talk show legend, Oprah Winfrey. “Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts beautiful big sister! Rest well! We love and adore you infinitely!” she wrote in her captions.

    5. Oprah Winfrey

    Having interviewed the singer multiple times, hostess Oprah Winfrey mourned for Tina by posting 2 Instagram posts expressing her gratitude for the American Music Award winner by saying, “I am a better woman, a better human because her life touched mine. She was indeed simply the best.”

    6. Barack and Michelle Obama 

    Former US President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama paid tribute to the legendary artist by posting a shared post on Instagram. The couple wrote, “Today we join fans around the world in honoring the Queen of Rock and Roll, and a star whose light will never fade.”

    7. Jennifer Hudson

    Powerhouse vocalist Jennifer Hudson remembered Tina by posting a heartwarming post about how she has inspired many of her fans to pursue their dreams no matter what. “Your legacy will live forever. U showed us all what it means to have the grit and determination to never stop, no matter what life throws our way! Thank u for all you’ve given us. Now rest in peace!”

    The list of celebs mourning Tina Turner goes on. The Grammy Award winning singer has truly blessed the world with not only her voice and music but as well as her courage, dedication, and perseverance. The world of Rock ‘n Roll will be the same.  Rest in peace, Tina Turner.
