DAR ES SALAAM, July 9 (Xinhua) – The 14th African Union High Level Private Sector Forum is set to take place in Nairobi, Kenya from July 10 to 12, attracting over 500 participants from Africa and beyond, according to a statement from the East African Community (EAC).

The EAC secretariat and the African Union Commission have jointly organized this forum, which is expected to be attended by high-level public policymakers, private sector actors, financial institutions, as well as representatives from women and youth-led or owned creative start-ups, academia, and research institutions.

The main objective of the forum, as stated in the late Saturday issued statement, is to enhance the connections between regional and continental markets, with the aim of boosting trade and investment. The statement also revealed that the Kenyatta International Conference Center (KICC) will host about 100 exhibitors from Africa and beyond, showcasing their merchandise throughout the three-day event.

The theme for this year’s forum is “Public-Private Sector Engagement for Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development while Deepening Regional and Continental Trade and Investment towards Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)”.
