PETALING JAYA: Police will call up the caterer involved in the food poisoning incident at a school in Sungai Cincin, Gombak, which caused two deaths.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, when met at the contingent police headquarters in Shah Alam on Tuesday (June 11), said police would also summon teachers and the school’s administration for statements.

“I have also been informed that the Health Ministry has closed down the related canteen,” he said, adding that police were awaiting results from laboratory tests.

He added that the police are also in the midst of identifying the exact number of people affected from the food poisoning incident.

Earlier today, Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Noor Ariffin Mohamad Nasir said in a statement that a 17-year-old boy and a two-year-old girl had died after eating food believed to be from an event at the school, which also left dozens of teachers ill.

Investigations showed that the victims had consumed fried bihun and fried eggs taken home from the event by their parents.
