KUALA LUMPUR: Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd (Rapid Rail) will conduct Fire Certification Pre-Inspections at 18 MRT Putrajaya Line stations from tomorrow until Oct 7.
In a statement on Monday (Sept 30), it said these comprehensive pre-inspections will be carried out after MRT service hours, from midnight to 4am.
Therefore, the public or residents in surrounding areas are advised not to be alarmed if they hear fire alarms during these times.
“This is part of our preparations for the Fire Certification Inspection, scheduled for Oct 14 to 17 by the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department.
“This initiative is a joint effort between Rapid Rail and Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) to ensure that all fire prevention systems at MRT stations are functioning properly in case of emergency and to identify any fire safety protocols that may need improvement,” the statement read.
The MRT stations involved in the exercise are Metro Prima, Kepong Baru, Jinjang, and Sri Delima on Oct 1; Kampung Batu, Kentonmen, Jalan Ipoh, and Sentul Barat on Oct 2; and Titiwangsa, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Raja Uda, and Ampang Park on Oct 3.
On Oct 4, the exercise will be conducted at Persiaran KLCC and Conlay stations, while on Oct 7, it will involve Chan Sow Lin, Kuchai, Taman Naga Emas, and Sungai Besi stations.
