According to Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, the decree by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, calling for closer ties and unity, should be respected by all individuals. He emphasized the importance of respecting the sensitivities of Malaysia’s diverse racial community and urged political leaders to be cautious when issuing statements.

During a Hari Raya gathering of the Dukut Maharajo descendants at Kampung Kepayang, Ahmad Faizal highlighted the notion of tolerance in Islam, where the practice of other religions is permitted. He stressed the need for mutual respect and understanding among different religious beliefs for a harmonious coexistence within Malaysian society.

He advocated for reciprocal respect, stating that just as Muslims do not insult the religions and deities of others, similar respect should be shown towards the beliefs of Islam. By embracing this principle, Malaysia can foster a culture of mutual respect and peaceful living.

Addressing the recent controversy surrounding socks and shoes bearing the word “Allah,” the deputy president of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia clarified that he did not observe the term on the sole of the shoes. He called for moving forward with an apology in the case of the socks issue, while reiterating that any form of insult towards Allah’s name is unequivocally unacceptable.
